Adoption Shower - May 7
Where does time go?? This update is so late in coming, but I wanted to share about the amazing adoption shower our sweet friends, Kimberly and Amber, threw for us! These women have encouraged, prayed for and walked through this journey with us. We are so blessed to have them in our lives.
Since our adoption has been equal parts, his and mine, we thought it fitting we should have a co-ed shower to welcome sweet baby Audrey. The colors for the shower were coral and mint/teal with accents of gold. Nursery signs, vintage books and fresh flowers were added to every available surface. It was so special seeing things we've had for years, items we purchased for the nursery and vintage pieces set up throughout Kimberly's house. She saved the day with a huge white pop-up tent set up outside since we had some unexpected rain.
We had so much help setting up - even Hubs got put to work. My aunt and uncle from Northern CA came down for the shower and took over all the flowers, the guys set up tables and ran misc errands, my sister, Kimberly and I decorated, Amber handled food and her daughter helped assemble game packets.
Amber created a delicious dessert table and appetizer station. We had cupcakes, hand-rolled and decorated cookies, s'mores bars, lemon bars and a monster cookie bar. I have a huge sweet tooth and most assuredly ate a little bit of each one! Appetizers were finger foods- veggies and fruit platter, deviled eggs, cucumber bites and stuffed jalapenos. While I'm all about the sweets, Hubs prefers spicy, so those jalapenos went quick!
I am so grateful to all our family and friends who made this all possible - from shopping for vintage pieces, buying party supplies, baking and cooking, putting together games, setting up, cleaning up and hosting.
We were blessed to be surrounded by family and friends who helped grow Audrey's library, contribute to her expanding closet and provided us with some much-needed baby basics! I had so much fun finding spots in her nursery for all her new things. This girl is so very loved.
In case you wanted to view our registry, it's available at Amazon Registry.
One step at a time, we are getting closer to bringing her home.
God bless,
The Shoes
